The original top quality steel security bar has a pair of factory 6��" "L" bolts but often they are not long enough for your situation. Then you need to find out if dimension [D] is more than 5", if so, you need extra long bolts.
This security product involves only single and double outswing doors with extra wide jambs. The standard bolts are usually 6��" long and these "L" bolts are approximately 13" long.

Simply replace the factory bolts with the extra long bolts. They may be a little too long. Complete the total bar installation and use your "STEEL GRIP". With bar in the locked position on the door, cut off the excess length, leaving a ��" for the red end caps.
